Job Description: YCOM is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to support the department in creating engineering design schemes for high-level motorsport and transportation projects. Responsibilities: The selected candidate will join the Mechanical and Composites Design team and will be responsible for designing components from concept to final drawing release. Depending on the project, he/she will also oversee other assigned designers. His/Her role will include ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all design outputs within the team, guaranteeing compliance with YCOM’s processes and procedures. The candidate will organise and lead technical meetings as needed, engaging with various project stakeholders. Specifically, he/she will collaborate with other members of the Technical Office to manage the design process (e.g., Concept Design, Calculations, Electrical Systems Engineering); work closely with the Project Management team to align timing and costs and provide support to Purchasing and Production regarding outputs from their area when required. Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Catia CAD or another relevant CAD system. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, gained in medium/high-complexity environments with tight deadlines (e.g., motorsport, prototyping). Ability to manage the technical aspects of complex projects. Knowledge of both metallic and composite engineering materials, including treatments, processes, and applications. Understanding of detailed design requirements to ensure proper component functionality and structural integrity of systems and components. Ability to specify structural analysis requirements and perform manual calculations when necessary. Key Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying engineering concepts to team members and clients. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
