Our client is a leading technology company engaged in the worldwide development, commercialization and application of state-of-the-art proprietary technologies for air pollution control, process optimization, combustion efficiency, and advanced engineering services. Your new role Works with sales and engineering staff to review bid specification and provides comments in the form of exceptions, clarifications and deviations for scope and pricing development and input into proposals for company technologies including ASNCR, SNCR, SCR, ULTRA, AFCU and related Systems. Develops a cost estimate for each assigned proposal, based on scope of supply and the client RFQ / specification requirements through soliciting supply chain quotes. Drafts proposal PFD / P&I drawings for inclusion in the bid package with support from Engineering to ensure alignment with known systems and technologies. Works with Project Execution and Purchasing staff within the group particularly in USA to define estimating procedures and to improve cost estimate accuracy. Works with Project Execution or autonomously to obtain technical comments for client RFQ packages and incorporate into proposals. Develops bid specifications (MR – “Material Requisitions”) together with Manager, Engineering applicable to suppliers and contractors for the various company Technologies and Systems. Includes company T/C’s review and development for issuance to outside engineering firms for bidding purposes. Works with Manager, Engineering, Sales, Sales Engineering and Legal (in Italy and the US ) to obtain all critical commercial, technical, and process requirements for adequate vendor MR specification development. Establishes communication protocol with outside engineering firms to obtain contact information and qualifications, arranges and attends site visits for bid estimates, and administers engineering bids costs submitted for engineering efforts. Attends internal project kick-off meetings to ensure smooth and complete transfer of information from Sales to Project Execution. Works with Project Execution in early stages in understanding project requirements. Works with Project Execution and Project Management throughout project duration including pre and post contract phases. Ensures clear and concise turnover of projects from proposal phase to project phase. This includes the development of project requirements including scope, schedule, budget, and preliminary designs. Performs new vendor qualification activities as assigned and develops a summary report to help clearly define the vendors capabilities, strengths, weakness and any potential risk factors. Will be assigned key engineering tasks such as the creation and/or review of P&ID, PFD, various lists as required in support of active projects. What you'll need to succeed BS required; BS in Engineering is preferred. 3 - 5 years of experience in systems design and cost estimating is required. 3 - 5 years of experience in inside sales, sales engineering or similar support function. Knowledge of industry installation practices, including ATEX Zones, along with experience with commercial terms and conditions is preferred. HAZOP and Risk Analysis experience and proficiencies required. Demonstrated attention to detail required. Ability to use feedback to modify designs and improve efficiencies is required. Ability to identify and resolve problems is required. Ability to analyze, interpret or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances is required. Excellent communications skills, speaking clearly and persuasively, are required. Excellent writing skills, writing clearly and informatively, are required. Good leadership skills, with commitment to ethical conduct, are required. Must be able to travel 10% of the time. Must speak Italian and English.
