Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial scale solar PV projects Analyze project specifications, technical drawings, and site conditions to determine material, labor, and equipment requirementsDevelop comprehensive bill of quantities (BOQ) for solar PV installationsReview and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project requirementsPerform preliminary system designs to support accurate estimationIdentify potential technical challenges and propose cost-effective solutionsEnsure all estimates comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and local regulationsWork closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teamsMaintain a database of historical cost data and estimation metricsAnalyze completed projects to compare estimated versus actual costsIdentify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvementParticipate in value engineering exercises to optimize project costsSupport contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy)Minimum of 3-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in solar PV or related fieldDemonstrated experience in cost estimation, project planning, or related functionsKnowledge of solar PV systems, components, and installation methodsUnderstanding of electrical systems and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirementsProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specificationsExperience with estimation software and toolsWorking knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)Familiarity with solar design software (PVsyst, HelioScope, or similar)Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculationsExcellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracyOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for detailed cost analysis
