About this role
This is a unique chance for a Customer Software Support Engineer to become the bridge between our customers and technical experts, delivering remote support via phone and remote desktop connections. You will also have the opportunity to engage in on-site assignments up to 25-30% of the time to ensure that clients receive top-notch service.
Your key responsibilities:
* Provide second-line support to our customers.
* Coordinate incoming service tasks.
* Troubleshoot Java, JEE and C# code, identify bugs, and prepare software patches.
* Perform proactive maintenance of current installations.
* Develop change requests.
* Execute software upgrades.
* Assist customers with server and database upgrades.
* Analyze problems and investigate performance issues.
* Deliver detailed reports of each intervention.
* Contribute to our knowledge base.
* Participate in 24/7 support ('On Call' support).
* Interact with other service teams within Dematic.
Your skills and qualifications:
* You hold a degree in ICT, Electro-mechanics, Automation or related disciplines.
* You have experience in software development using Java, JEE, C#, .Net, WinForms, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server, Git.
* You possess basic IT administration knowledge such as user management, remote desktop connection, event viewer, etc.
* You have hands-on experience in software lifecycle management.
* You are familiar with Testing, Deployment, Server and Database installation.
* You have experience acting as 2nd or 3rd line support.
* Awareness of warehouse automation and intra-logistics is advantageous.
* You hold a valid driving license.
* You are proficient in both Italian and English languages.
