Position Summary We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Pomezia (Rome). As an Electrical Engineer of the Sustaining Engineering team in the Infection Prevention Technologies (IPT) R&D department, you perform a wide range of electrical engineering duties and project assignments of existing products. You report to the engineering team manager and have responsibility for analyzing, improving, developing and documenting designs related to electrical systems of our capital equipment manufactured in Pomezia. This includes the electronic hardware of the control system, sensors, actuators, electromechanical interfaces, compliance with machine specifications and compliance with applicable electrical standards. Therefore, you must be able to solve machine control problems by applying knowledge of electrical engineering principles to accomplish technical challenges. Duties Uses electrical engineering principles in the selection of sensors, actuators, solenoids, motors, valves, process instrumentation and associated controls needed to meet machine control solutions. Interacts cross functional collaboration to achieve good design, including external contact to suppliers and other engineering disciplines like Mechanical Engineering and Control Systems/Software team. Planning and carry out feasibility tests, verification, validation create technical documentation of the development according to medical standards. Performs fault mode and root cause analyses to provide the basis for establishing solutions. Confirms electrical system’s and component’s capabilities and quality by designing testing methods and evaluating properties. Provides electrical guidance to project designers and technicians in their assignments. Education Degree Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Required Experience Experience in the control of systems with the selection of sensors and actuators. Practical knowledge of electromechanical laboratory equipment, such as measuring instruments, laboratory sensors, data loggers and oscilloscopes. Ability to use ECAD and PLM Systems especially EPLAN and Windchill. Basic understanding of electro mechanical and fluid mechanical systems. Exhibits a working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, specifically IEC 61010-1 for electrical safety compliance and the various EMC procedures per IEC 61326-1 for FCC/CE certification. Experience in root cause analysis, risk assessment and FEMA. Working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical testing design. Strong communication and problem solving skills. Passion in realizing and implementing solutions. Organizational, communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. English skills minimum on level A2.
