Event Operations Manager – Sport World Championship
THIS ROLE IS BASED IN LONDON
We are very excited to have been retained by our client to search for a key role within their ecosystem, reporting directly into the Head of Events – Events Operations Manager. Working within a start-up environment, the main responsibility of the Event Operations Manager is the operational delivery for the World Championship race weekends, ensuring that the events are delivered on time, to budget and to a best-in-class standard.
The ideal candidate would have a background in providing operational support in a sports environment, including management of event budgets, as a core part of their role.
Other Responsibilities include:
Plan and deliver the Championship races globally in new locations around the world, ensuring all deliverables are met to the highest possible standard.
Support with operational planning and delivery of other non-Championship events such as pilot training, exhibition events and one-off promotional events.
Procurement of all event operational services, from initial tenders to negotiation, appointment and contracting.
Assist the legal department with host venue & supplier contracts.
Liaise and build strong working relationships with the local authorities and key stakeholders.
Manage the event ecosystem of global and local suppliers prior to event and onsite.
Responsible for event security, safety and medical of staff and suppliers both onsite and offsite during the event period.
Responsible for designing efficient and well laid site plans.
Responsible for the operational execution of the Fan Village, the Acceleration Festival.
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, hospitality, partnerships, tech and broadcast and sporting, to ensure all departments work cohesively and efficiently to deliver an outstanding event.
presenting the event budget with monthly reports and presentation to the Head of Events and CFO, ensuring events are delivered within budget.
Key Result Areas:
An exceptional event delivery executed within budget.
Successful feedback on events from key stakeholders, local authorities, governments, guests key sponsors and team.
Ensure all event planning stages are communicated accurately, on time and include all necessary departments.
Reduction in event emissions and waste per event.
Experience:
Substantial international event delivery experience in a leading role, ideally within a travelling sporting event background.
Extensive experience working with various event agency companies and stakeholders
Ideally, holding an IOSH or similar qualification
