The Medical Physics Section at the University of Rome Tor Vergata ( which houses the TheraFUS ( Laboratory, is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a groundbreaking project aimed at revolutionizing brain cancer treatment. Our research integrates multifunctional theranostic nanoparticles with state-of-the-art focused ultrasound (FUS) technology, providing an exceptional opportunity to engage in pioneering preclinical studies within a vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment.
About the Role: As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you'll play a central role in advancing innovative treatments for brain cancer and other neurological disorders, working closely with experts in medical physics, neuroscience, bioengineering, and oncology.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct preclinical experiments on murine models for brain cancer therapy.
Perform precise stereotactic surgical procedures for brain implantations.
Analyze biological samples using advanced immunohistochemical and molecular biology techniques.
Collaborate within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to refine cutting-edge theranostic approaches.
Actively contribute to prominent national and European research initiatives focusing on brain disease therapies, including epilepsy.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Physics, Neuroscience, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline.
Proven experience in preclinical murine studies.
Strong proficiency in stereotactic surgical techniques for brain implantations.
Expertise in immunohistochemistry and ex vivo molecular analyses.
Desirable Skills:
Experience developing animal models specifically for brain tumor research.
Familiarity with focused ultrasound technologies for targeted drug delivery.
Competence in in vivo imaging methodologies (MRI, PET) applicable to small animal models.
