Job Description:
An Automation Engineer plays a key role in the integration of industrial and IT technologies to develop efficient processes.
The professional will hold a strategic position and be involved in the process relating to new investments for relevant issues.
They will operate within the engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Manager, coordinating resources.
Responsibilities:
* Adopting specific instructions and procedures for the installation of electronic equipment and devices for command, control, and regulation of automated processes.
* Managing a team (2 automation technicians) for the programming and implementation of process control and safety logics and the integration of various systems on new plants and revamping ones.
* System Lead of automated plant systems, including DCS/PLC/IFix.
* Managing CapEx projects of process control technology for the automation of plant systems, collaborating with colleagues from various functions, the engineering team, and international teams.
* Creating the IT Infrastructure for OT.
* Supporting the analysis of system data to identify problems and eliminate process deviations by stabilizing and optimizing SW controls for continuous improvement.
* Identifying and defining standards for the correct application of IT-Security.
* Leading the strategy of international automation technology with coordination and implementation of all digitalization initiatives, including the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
* Subject Matter Expert for Automation at a Global level.
* Ensuring Data Integrity in the field of DCS/PLC/IFix for all installed systems.
* Responsible for Computer System Validation, including OT Cyber Security.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in Engineering, Electronics, or Automation/Control technology.
* At least 3 years of professional experience with computer systems or programmable logic controllers in highly automated control technology (IFix, Siemens PCS7), preferably in chemical and pharmaceutical plants.
* Extensive experience as a project manager or chief engineer, preferably with international experience.
* Knowledge of related specialist fields such as chemical process engineering and ventilation technology.
* Excellent knowledge of modern project management and project reporting methods.
* Fluency in Italian and English.
* Communication skills, team spirit, and a structured and goal-oriented way of working.
