Athena India is seeking a General Manager to provide leadership and develop the company’s strategic direction, ensuring the achievement of its vision, mission, and long-term financial objectives.
The successful candidate will oversee the company’s operations, drive business growth, and ensure the profitability of its products.
He/She will provide strategic advice to the President and the Board of Directors of the Parent Company, plan cost-effective business strategies, and develop new ideas based on market and industry trends.
The General Manager must manage key operations, lead the entire group to success, administer available resources, and effectively engage with customers and partner companies.
In addition, the candidate must maintain a comprehensive view of the current market situation—both nationally and internationally—with a keen eye on competitors’ plans, so as to promptly devise the appropriate countermeasures.
In particular, the role will involve:
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
* Provide strategic counsel to the Board of Directors, plan cost-effective business strategies, and develop new ideas based on market and industry trends.
* Establish corporate objectives that align with the goals of the Board of Directors and shareholders.
* Identify key competencies and define operational objectives.
* Implement corporate policies, ensuring they are clearly communicated and adhered to.
* Create initiatives to exploit market opportunities, reduce operational threats, prevent business risks, and maximize core strengths.
* Maintain positive, trust-based relationships with commercial partners, shareholders, authorities, and senior management.
BUDGET:
* Direct the company’s activities while ensuring the profitability of its products.
* Evaluate and manage business operations and financial performance.
* Develop and monitor budgets to ensure that the company operates efficiently from a financial perspective.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
* Supervise the workforce and provide leadership and motivation to all employees.
* Ensure the enhancement of skills to support ongoing development.
* Establish and maintain the optimal organizational structure required to achieve the desired performance.
* Evaluate, manage, and resolve emerging challenges and problematic situations.
Required Qualifications:
* 3-5 years of experience in General Management, preferably in the automotive, industrial, or related fields.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a background in Management & Marketing.
* Advanced skills in sales management, leadership, and negotiation.
* Willingness to travel frequently within India and internationally.
* Fluency in Italian or other Latin languages and English.
