Job Overview
Jensen Hughes, a leading consulting firm specialising in risk analysis and engineering solutions, is actively seeking talented mid / senior-level nuclear engineers, with a strong nuclear safety background. This position will primarily support probabilistic safety assessment model development and studies to deploy advanced reactors and SMRs in Europe. While the project team is based in Milan, Italy, we are open to remote work arrangements only for exceptional candidates. Our diverse team serves clients globally, providing specialised consulting services ranging from routine nuclear power plant operations to cutting-edge research and development initiatives aimed at enhancing plant safety and efficiency.
As a Consulting Engineer with Jensen Hughes, you will join a dynamic team of nuclear consultants dispersed across the globe. In your role, you will have the opportunity to support the growth of our technical offering in nuclear projects and facilities work, across the globe. As a knowledge expert you will be working with other nuclear experts and alongside existing staff to deliver innovative solutions for nuclear safety and reliability consulting services.
Responsibilities
* Work in an expert role focused on nuclear safety, including technical project management tasks.
* Support the development of probabilistic safety models and their applications.
* Provide support to various countries in their new nuclear power projects.
* Assist with feasibility studies related to site and technology assessment, regulation and licensing, and capacity building.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Master’s degree or higher in Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university.
* At least 5 years of post-graduation experience in a nuclear safety expert role, particularly in developing probabilistic safety assessment models.
* Excellent English communication and writing skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrix global organization at all levels.
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and navigating ambiguities and uncertainties.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in nuclear power plant engineering, systems, licensing, operations, advanced nuclear technologies, or similar technical areas is highly desirable.
* Strong project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, would be advantageous.
* Italian language proficiency is desirable.
