About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Sommelier - commis to join our team at Jumeirah Capri Palace during the summer season.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with Banquets operations, creating a profitable wine selection and building out the banquets list, communicating with sales on changes to the list/pricing.
* Work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure proper ordering practices.
* Assist with end of month inventory.
* Update and keep track of wine cellars on property.
* Stay up-to-date on wine trends and attend wine tastings.
* Ensure that all wine is served in proper glassware and in proper condition.
* Assist the Head Sommelier with staff trainings.
* Cooperate with floor staff during service.
About You:
* Minimum 2-year supervising or managing experience in a luxury hospitality brand.
* Proficient in Italian and fluent in English. A third language would be an added advantage.
* Minimum WSET certification level 1.
* Knowledge on alcohol pairing and taste.
* Food and alcohol handling certifications.
