Role Overview
This position is based at our Workshop in Verona, requiring approximately 85% onsite presence from Monday to Friday, with the remaining 15% spent at customer sites within the Italian territories.
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for meeting the daily service maintenance, pre-sales setup, and repair needs of customers' returned devices, while consistently exceeding internal and external KPIs.
Responsibilities:
• Carrying out planned maintenance, update software and carrying out repairs returned from internal and external Customers in an accurate, timely manner ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.
• Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used in accordance with site standards to ensure that good quality maintenance history is recorded.
• Travel to Customer’s site to complete pre-sales setup and after-sales service activities like, but not only, installation, repair and maintenance of Spacelabs’ products. Availability to perform technical interventions at Customer locations is estimated at approximately 15% of the time.
• Diagnose faults, resolve issues and perform repairs necessary to restore the correct functioning of the products at the Spacelabs laboratory in Verona. Availability to perform technical interventions at the Verona laboratory is estimated at approximately 85% of the time.
• Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of equipment and surrounding area.
• Fault finding to PCB level with or without the aid of drawings and circuit diagrams.
• To place orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with other departments within the Company in a professional manner, providing accurate details and feedback to Line Management.
• Ensure relevant documentation is fully completed in an accurate and timely manner, including service reports, and site documentation.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation and internal site rules.
• Ensure appropriate workplace standards are maintained.
• Ensure Company property is used maintained in the proper manner, including tools and PPE.
• On-going training to enhance individual technical competency.
• Responsibility for the technical progression and resolution of incidents allocated to you.
• Ensure that your work area remains in excellent working order, neat, clean.
• It is the responsibility of every Spacelabs Healthcare employee to report to their manager and raise a QMS for any quality problems or defects for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
• Maintain current knowledge of all applicable procedures and safety measures.
• Adherence to health and safety practices and procedures and/or all other applicable regulations.
• Attend on-going training to enhance individual technical competency.
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
• Maintain test equipment including proper storage, movement and ensuring the equipment is within Calibration before use.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems that arise, ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
• Working as a key member of our workshop team and playing a vital role in the success of the Department.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Electronic Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Informatics / Biomedical.
• Computer skills, network connections, computer networks, client-server configurations.
• Knowledge of HL7 and DICOM communication protocols.
Good knowledge of Eglish and Italian written and spoken.
• Sound judgement is required in the analysis of technical, operational, and logistic problems.
• Experience gained in customer focused service organization maintaining sophisticated electronic hardware and software, operating in the hospital or medical sector.
• Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Good organisational skills including prioritising workload and using own initiative with the ability to retain information due to the variety of tasks required of this role.
• Follow and operate within company guidelines for SLA (Service Level Agreement) for responding to customer calls.
