Job Description We have an opening for a highly motivated candidate to lead our Flow Cytometry Core Facility and assist with flow cytometry applications, technical guidance, instrumentation maintenance and data analysis. The Flow Cytometry Core Facility provides experimental support and expertise throughout the entire drug discovery process and assists investigators from multiple departments within the IRBM organisation as well as external partners. The candidate will be required to directly perform routine testing, guiding associates in day-to-day flow cytometry operations and assist in analysis on a regular basis; he/she will execute and implement a variety of techniques including advanced flow cytometry techniques, innovative cell culture systems and single-cell methodologies. This position reports directly to the Director of Oncology. Key responsibilities Perform cell culture, flow cytometry sample processing and analysis. Process human and murine samples and isolate primary cell subsets for subsequent assays. Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Flow Cytometry Core Team. Manage laboratory resources, ordering reagents and other lab supplies as needed. Administer periodic quality maintenance activities on flow cytometry instruments and related equipment. Assist in the development of new cell-based assays and multiparametric flow cytometry panels. Maintain a detailed, up-to-date, accurate and organized laboratory notebook and inventory of samples and reagents. Competencies Proven experience with mammalian and/or primary cell culture. Previous and significant experience with flow cytometry techniques is required. Ability to work in a team environment and laboratory setting. Detail oriented and fast learner, willing to learn. Must be familiar with FCS Express, FlowJo, Excel, PowerPoint, database applications. Working knowledge of spoken and written English. Education Requirements MS or PhD in Biology or other related discipline. 8-10 years or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
