The candidate will become part of the NX Engineering District of Catania, having the opportunity to work on innovative and novel technologies to fully enable the energy transition.
The Process Leader is responsible for the activities related to the Process discipline within medium/small size projects or, reporting to the Process Manager, for a specific scope of work within a large complex project. The Process Leader coordinates a group of process engineers assigned to the project according to the assigned budget and the project schedule, ensuring the costs optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the coordination of the pertaining engineering center and of the other engineering centers involved in the project, ensuring the document consistency with the contract, the respect of project schedule and the quality of documents under the supervision of the Process Engineering Manager.
2. Interface with the other Discipline leaders and Vendors for Process related activities that are part of the project under his/her responsibility.
3. Participate in multidisciplinary reviews such as Plot Plan, Hazop, and 3D model for the part under his/her responsibility.
4. Ensure assistance during the construction and commissioning phase from home office or on site in accordance with project requirements.
5. Provide feedback to the Process Head of Department regarding issues raised by the application of methodology, standards, and working instructions, to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.
6. Conduct technical training according to the needs of the Department and Company and share experiences with colleagues of Maire Tecnimont Group for new Discipline or Group design methods.
7. Keep updated about Process design and promote improvements.
Knowledge Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, more than 8 years of experience in similar roles, good management skills of personnel and aptitude for learning chemical processes and production activities.
2. Advanced knowledge of production processes, production methods, and technologies.
3. Skills in the use of process simulation software (ASPEN, HYSYS, others).
4. Knowledge of AutoCAD basic features.
5. Excellent use of MS Office system (especially MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point).
Experience:
Proven professional experience in the chemical, petrochemical, refining, or fuel sectors, with involvement or exposure to sustainability initiatives (i.e. strategic business repositioning, access to new sustainable technologies) or special projects concerning circular economy or energy transition. Proven experience developing Feasibility, process Design Packages, Basic Design Packages, FEED, and EPC Projects.
