We are seeking an OPTICAL ENGINEER to be involved in our project for development and design layout and systems for ground and space optical applications. The ideal candidate has a passion to design, develop and test optical systems and components. We’re seeking a team player that can work alongside the engineering area, especially with mechanical, electronic and manufacturing departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define detailed design of optical system
* Execute optical performance analysis
* Perform tolerance analysis and optimize the design for manufacturability/integration
* Definition and management of error and performance budgets
* Define and design alignment setup
* Prepare alignment plan/procedure
* Prepare optical components requirement definition and specification
* Optical coating specifications
* Define Optical components manufacturing drawings
* Contribute to AIT phases (optical tests, integration and optical alignment)
* Prepare high quality documentation (e.g. design and analysis report, integration procedure and test report)
* Interaction with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* University degree in Physics or Optical Engineering
* Strong analytical and problem-solving attitude
* Experience in Optomechanical systems optical design and analysis
* Knowledge of Telescope configurations in VIS and NIR wavelength. The knowledge in UV and IR ranges is an advantage
* Experience in optical alignment, in definition of optomechanical system measurement set up
* Knowledge of optical images processing
* Knowledge of optical metrology and set up (e.g: interferometric measurements)
* Knowledge of Zemax
* Knowledge of FRED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* More than 3-year experience in similar role
* Confidence with optical manufacturing process
* Knowledge of Matlab/Python
