Ai models as a service for preprocessing in manufacturing
Background
The main objective of the project is to create a new Industry 4.0 and 5.0 service offering for companies in the manufacturing sector. The services are focused on the management and extraction of value from production data, leveraging the construction of the Digital Twin of the production process, in order to develop services such as quality prediction, production optimisation with minimisation of downtimes, machinery setup/maintenance and energy costs.
The INCREASE Project aims to offer an integrated, modular and complete system based on cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Extended Reality (XR) and others to support SMEs (but not only). This system enables manufacturing companies to exploit the benefits of Industry 5.0 services, while avoiding the need to invest significant resources in understanding and managing these technologies before tangible results are achieved. The main aim is also to help companies move towards operating models that are leaner, predictive and able to adapt to change through the use of innovative digital tools and change management strategies focused on simplifying the adoption of new technologies.
Main activities:
Define, design and implement a catalogue of general-purpose algorithms for data analysis in manufacturing (production process). The defined models will have to be contextualised (appropriately configurable) in a cloud platform so that they are ready to be provided as-a-service, thus supported by appropriate metrics and usage permissions. The implementing models will be able to leverage basic open source algorithms.
Requirements:
Knowledge of artificial intelligence principles and commercially available OSS libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.);
In-depth knowledge of the Python language and fair knowledge of front-end frameworks;
Knowledge of cloud and microservices architectures;
Knowledge of technical documentation using UML for artefact design.

You will have the opportunity to work with AI models (based on OSS algorithms) that can be used in different contexts and domains, defining a project catalogue that can also be shared from a scientific point of view;
You will be confronted with experienced colleagues representing the stakeholders of your work.
