We are looking for an IT Backup & Storage Specialist in our Naples office, the major service delivery center in the Group.
The position offers the option of smart working to ensure you have the best work-life balance possible.
The role involves travelling (~ 5%) to the corporate HQ where datacenters are hosted.
In a dynamic and growing IT department, the IT Backup & Storage Specialist reports to the IT Infrastructure Delivery Lead & IT Senior Platforms Manager and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing backup & storage products in our corporate data center with a key focus on strategy and planning, data integrity/verification, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Set strategies & help the unit in adopting the right backup & storage solution(s) for the datacenter.
2. Design and implement data center infrastructure components like storage, disk, and tape libraries.
3. Manage the life cycle of backup & storage components: introduce, deploy, maintain, and retire them.
4. Setup & configure datacenter infrastructure for high availability, reliability, and performance.
5. Manage and optimize backup & storage solutions.
6. Implement backup and recovery strategies for data protection.
7. Oversee day-to-day operations of the backup & storage components with the provider.
8. Establish alerting systems for proactive problem identification.
9. Analyze resource utilization and plan for future capacity needs.
10. Define key performance indicators for the perimeter.
11. Collaborate with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
12. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for configurations and procedures for all datacenter components.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Fluent in English, oral and written. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
2. Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
3. Must have at least 5+ years of experience as a Backup & Storage specialist.
4. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and to deliver under stretched deadlines.
5. Hands-On experience and very good knowledge working with the following products or their equivalents:
* Backup & Recovery product CommVault.
* Storage solutions PureStorage Flash Array, HPE Alletra MP & EMC UNITY.
* Backup disk library based on Cisco Hyperscale S3260.
* Knowledge of automation using Ansible is a plus.
