About the job:
Based in Naples, Italy you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join CSU Naples, which is the leading provider of Communications and Information System (CIS) products and services to locally based NATO entities such as the Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples. CSU Naples enables end-to-end CIS services and manages critical technological capabilities during peacetime, crisis and war.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Technician (NaaS) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
1. Specifies the technical configurations and components required for a small network or a network segment in a more complex infrastructure;
2. Produces and maintains documentation related to daily activity logs, active and passive network configuration, network mapping, processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and service records;
3. Manages the installation, management and lifecycles programs of all communications equipment (LAN; WAN; SATCOM) requirements;
4. Manages the installation and maintenance of the local NATO Communication Infrastructure node to include Multiplexers, Crypto equipment Modems, Routers, Switches and other commercial/military communications access devices that provide access to NATO’s classified and unclassified Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN).
About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
1. Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience.
2. At least 2 years hands-on experience with the designing, implementing, and maintaining the core network architecture for large organizations.
3. Experience configuring, troubleshooting and optimizing routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware/software networking elements.
4. Experience of maintaining and configuring IP encryption device approved for all NATO security levels;
5. Knowledge and experience of implementing and operating WAN and LAN technologies within an Enterprise and Services Provider network;
6. Knowledge and experience of configuration, operation and management of Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure (e.g. CUCM);
7. Knowledge and experience on Satellite and Radio Communications;
8. Proven experience in the use of an Incident Management System such as BMC ITSM;
9. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
