RINA is currently recruiting for a Infrastructure Research & Innovation Consultant to join its office in Milan, Italy within the Infrastructure & Mobility Research & Innovation Division.
Mission
RINA is looking for a Consultant in Research & Innovation, to be based in our offices in Rozzano, Italy.
The candidate will refer to the Research & Innovation Unit of the Infrastructures & Mobility Business Unit and will have strong interactions with other homologous functions across the different Business Lines in RINA.The selected candidate will join a young and dynamic environment, in which research and innovation is a cornerstone of the overall development strategy. As such he/she will have the opportunity to provide a relevant contribution to the development of R&I strategies and activities as well as to impact the development of new offering and businesses of the Business Unit. He/she will have the opportunity to increase his/her professional and personal skills and competences, building on the hands-on experience in multidisciplinary projects and acting as technical focal point for his/her own areas of expertise.
Key Accountabilities
A) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit in terms of new opportunities creation, in the area of Transport & Mobility, specifically by:
1. Maintaining the current network and partners
2. Networking to identify prospect partners to be engaged in R&I activities
3. Identifying the most likely R&I opportunities
4. Scouting of partners and calls
5. Creating proposal ideas and concepts, proposal writing
B) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit in terms of Project Management in R&I projects in the area of Transport & Mobility, specifically by:
6. Coordinating the RINA team involved in the R&I project
7. Ensuring the timely submission of deliverables, according to RINA quality standards
8. Autonomy in work planning and decision making
9. Cooperating with the colleagues of the BU and of the other Bus involved in the technical activities
10. Coordinating the transfer of the R&I results to the OU of the BU Infrastructure, so that to improve and boost the service offering of the BU
C) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit, by developing innovation activities in the topic of Transport & Mobility, including but not limited to new mobility patterns, new logistics concepts and services, technological advancement in rail and mass-transit transports, etc., by:
11. Mapping of internal competences
12. Identifying innovation (and business related) opportunities
13. Defining of new/improved services and supporting the BU to transfer to the market these innovative or improved services
14. Participating to proposals/offering both at national and international level dealing with innovation or where innovative approaches, solutions, concepts might lead to a competitive advantage for the Business.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General
Qualifications
A previous experience in management of R&I Projects will be considered as a plus;
Fluency in noth written and spoken English:
Master's Degree in Engineering.
