Staff Scientist in Bioinformatics & Computational Science Issazadeh-Navikas Group, BRIC Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences University of Copenhagen We are looking for a highly motivated and independent staff scientist to support our efforts in bioinformatics & computational science to commence as soon as possible. Job Description The position involves theoretical and practical knowledge and capability to analyze large amounts of multi-omic data sets. The multi-omic data include single cell/nucleus RNA sequencing data, proteomics, and metabolomics data. The aim is to analyze data independently. The candidate should have expertise to develop algorithms and new pipelines to allow combining and analyzing large omic data to identify overlaps. The position also involves establishing spatial transcriptomic pipeline analysis. Additionally, the aim is to mine omic data from publicly available large datasets. Moreover, the job entails supervising master and PhD students on their bioinformatics, statistics, and computational work. Profile We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff scientist with the following competencies and experience: Essential Experience and Skills A PhD in a relevant field is an advantage but not a requirement. Proven ability to envision, plan, and execute a research project. Experience and knowledge in the field of computational sciences combined with biology and/or health sciences. Good English skills, written and spoken. Place of Employment The place of employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Terms of Employment The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 1 year. The starting date is 22 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1% to your pension fund.
