About The Role About this opportunity Project Management Team member, responsible for commissioning of Data Centres, from the early stage advice to settlement of the final account. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives. Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships. Delivering high quality services and ensuring that the facility meets requirements, the basis of design and operational needs of the Customer's intended usage. Managing the commissioning process applying the best quality practice. Advising on and implementing procurement strategies to ensure that the equipment is of high-quality standard and can be successfully installed, started up and commissioned. Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes. Evaluating and reporting on tenders. Valuing completed work. Assisting and monitoring critical tests. Assisting in the handover plan, monitoring, and tracking the preparation of documentation. Providing technical advice on contractual issues relating to construction projects (Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent). Producing and presenting reports to Customers, including reports on the scope, schedule, risks and delays of the commissioning process. Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance. About You Who we’re looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Sound experience in commissioning and post-contract tasks. Knowledgeable of industry standards around the commissioning of data centers. Experience of participation in large-scale data centres projects in the EU is desirable. Sound knowledge of industry standards around the commissioning of data centers. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical test equipment. Understanding of UPS systems, switchgear, generators and critical mechanical systems. Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written. Organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments. Excellent problem management skills. Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work as part of a team. Fluent in English. Qualifications Engineering degree.
