We are looking for a Data Center Engineer to support one of our customers, a large multinational company leader in its own industry sector.
Job Type: Full-time – Fully onsite (stand-by availability and working on shifts)
As a Junior Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of our data center environment, ensuring the reliable performance of core services, servers, and storage systems. You will work closely with senior engineers and IT teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and maintain data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems.
* Configure and manage ESXi (vSphere) environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
* Provide support for Active Directory (AD), including user management, group policies, and permissions.
* Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Wintel systems (Windows-based servers).
* Support networking activities in the data center, including troubleshooting network connectivity and ensuring the reliability of the internal network.
* Maintain and monitor core services including DNS, DHCP, and file services.
* Data storage management and support, including basic SAN/NAS configurations and backups.
* Assist in the implementation of upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and other IT teams to resolve technical issues promptly.
* Provide documentation and support for operational procedures, ensuring data center operations are well-documented and efficient.
Requirements:
* ESXi & vSphere experience: Understanding of virtualization technologies, especially VMware ESXi and vSphere environments.
* Active Directory (AD) administration: Experience with Active Directory, including user/group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and permissions.
* Wintel Systems knowledge: Familiarity with Windows server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows-based servers.
* Networking Knowledge: Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing/switching. Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools.
* Data Storage Knowledge: Basic knowledge of storage technologies, such as SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network-Attached Storage), and backup solutions.
