No Offer Description The researcher will carry out research activities in line with the research topics of the disciplinary scientific sector CHEM-02/A and with the objectives of the research project APACE (HORIZON-EIC-2023-PATHFINDERCHALLENGES-01-05 — EIC Pathfinder Challenge: In-space solar energy harvesting for innovative space applications; project 101161312). The research activity will be devoted to the detailed spectroscopic characterization and theoretical modeling of antenna-systems for the harvesting of solar light and its transfer to the active species of the resonant cavity of the laser, responsible for lasing. The antenna-systems to be investigated will comprise natural antenna-systems from photosynthetic bacteria, and artificial antennas made of aggregates of cyanines or other dyes. The lasing units will be either commercial and/or specially synthesized organic dyes (laser dyes) or inorganic nanocrystals. The research activity will result in outstanding publications in high quality international scientific journals and in the active participation to project meetings and to national and international conferences. Teaching and student tutorship activities are planned on topics relevant to the disciplinary scientific sector CHEM-02/A. The researcher will participate in dissemination and outreach activities, especially to spread knowledge about APACE and its results. Teaching may include lectures, tutorials, support in any other forms of student instruction, grading and evaluation of papers and evaluation of final exams, on the subjects and topics covered by the contract. Teaching for up to 120 hours is required, according to university regulations.
