TXT is looking for a thesis candidate for a master's thesis project in the field of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 services for companies in the manufacturing sector.
Project title
A usage control framework for data space
Background
The main objective of the project is to create a new Industry 4.0 and 5.0 service offering for companies in the manufacturing sector. The services are focused on the management and extraction of value from production data, leveraging the construction of the Digital Twin of the production process, in order to develop services such as quality prediction, production optimisation with minimisation of downtimes, machinery setup/maintenance and energy costs.
The INCREASE Project aims to offer an integrated, modular and complete system based on cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Extended Reality (XR) and others to support SMEs (but not only). This system enables manufacturing companies to exploit the benefits of Industry 5.0 services, while avoiding the need to invest significant resources in understanding and managing these technologies before tangible results are achieved. The main aim is also to help companies move towards operating models that are leaner, predictive and able to adapt to change through the use of innovative digital tools and change management strategies focused on simplifying the adoption of new technologies.
Main activities:
Define, design and implement a Usage Control Policies Framework by extending the TXT connector with a Usage Control Policy Framework that is Data Space Protocol-compliant (policies described through ODRL) in order to enable the enforcement of Usage Policies that will then allow to define whether a user (company) can consume data and under which conditions (according to the contract previously exchanged with the data provider).
Requirements:
Knowledge of system integration principles;
In-depth knowledge of the Java language and strong data analysis skills;
Knowledge of modern microservice architectures;
Familiarity with technical documentation using UML for artefact design and Swagger API for service design.
What you are going to learn:
You will have the opportunity to go beyond the state of the art in Data Space by working on one of the fundamental pillars represented by Usage Control.
Additional skills:
Good knowledge of English (written and spoken), communication and social skills and problem-solving orientation.
We offer:
Internship opportunity with the possibility of integration into the company and working in an international context;
