We are seeking a skilled System and Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of advanced smart antenna solutions for WiFi and 5G communication systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute and impact the development of major vendors WiFi routers, WiFi mesh systems, and 5G user equipment and repeaters. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, testing, and optimization of next-generation smart antenna systems, leveraging the latest WiFi and 5G platforms, advanced algorithms, and wireless network technologies to enhance coverage, performance, and reliability. Job Location: Legnaro (PD) with flexibility for some remote working; Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop smart antenna systems for WiFi (WiFi7 and WiFi8) and 5G (NR) networks. Work with hardware engineers to integrate antenna systems into communication platforms, ensuring seamless operation and system compatibility. Performance Optimization & Testing: Design and conduct system validation and performance testing of smart antennas embedded into WiFi and 5G devices under various operating conditions. Debug and troubleshoot issues related to system integration and software components. Software Development, Integration and Testing: Design and develop embedded software and efficient high-performance C code for real-time smart antenna control systems. Develop and optimize algorithms to enhance coverage, reliability, and performance of WiFi routers, mesh systems, and 5G (sub-GHz and mmWave) user equipment and repeaters. Implement and test algorithms in simulation environments through Python as well as commercial products from major vendors. Collaboration & Technical Innovation: Work closely with RF engineers and hardware designers to ensure the antenna system integrates smoothly with WiFi routers, mesh systems, and 5G (sub GHz and mmWave) user equipment and repeaters. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including system architectures, interface specifications, and user manuals. Stay updated with the latest research in 5G NR standards and WiFi advancements. Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Experience: 2 years of experience in system and software engineering, specifically in wireless communication systems. Experience in developing and deploying software for wireless communication systems (WiFi, LTE, 5G). Experience in validating performance of wireless communication systems (WiFi, LTE, 5G). Technical Skills: Proficient in programming languages such as C and Python. Familiarity with communication protocols, particularly WiFi (IEEE 802.11) and 5G (3GPP NR). Knowledge of signal processing and digital communications. Familiarity with wireless testing tools such as Ixia IxChariot and Iperf. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
