Camere d’Aria: CultureAndHealth Shadowing Programme for Visual Artists (Italy)
Camere d’Aria is calling for applications from European artists in visual arts who are interested in relational arts – whether it’s painting, graphic design, screen printing, engraving, drawing, illustration, weaving, video art, photography, ceramics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, or street art – for a shadowing programme.
The Shadowing Programme, part of the Culture and Health Platform, offers two European visual artists a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a hands-on artistic and social experience that connects art with community well-being. Hosted by Oltre Association in Bologna, this shadowing residency combines artistic production, participatory workshops, and intercultural exchange in preparation for the 14th edition of the International Soup Festival, scheduled for May 17–18, 2025. The programme takes place 9–18 May 2025.
Participants will:
* Collaborate with a local artist-artisan on visual materials for the International Soup Festival.
* Co-create and facilitate itinerant workshops in collaboration with a network of local social associations.
* Learn how to produce visual artworks using recycled materials as tools of social and political empowerment.
* Engage different target groups (children, elderly people, at-risk adolescents, migrants, women) through context-specific, participatory practices.
The Shadowing Programme is part of the CultureAndHealth Platform and co-funded by the European Union.
Support:
* Free accommodation at Camere d’Aria
* Meals included
* Travel reimbursement up to 450 EUR (green top-ups, island top-up and family top-ups are available)
