Your Role at Cabot The Ravenna carbon black plant is built in the highly developed northern industrial area not far from one of the busiest commercial ports in Adriatic Sea. Cabot Italianahas been manufacturing carbon black at Ravenna since 1960, producing several grades in three production units. It is the first furnace carbon black plant in Italy and, besides the three production units, runs a power station fed by the tail gas coming from carbon black production process, which provides the energy to run the plant and sells the excess to external grid. Ravenna is site for two entities with a total of 85 employees. Currently we’re looking for a Finance Manager to join our Ravenna Leadership Team, where you’ll be at the forefront of financial management for three entities located in Italy and Spain, subsidiaries of a US-based multinational company. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial reporting and planning activities, manage relationships with all regulatory authorities, and support growth initiatives as needed. This position requires ensuring compliance with both local regulations and US GAAP standards, working closely with the Global Business Services functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Cabot’s global standards and local GAAP for reporting. Additionally, the Finance Manager will establish and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, statutory auditors, and statutory boards. How You Will Make an Impact Manage the preparation of the statutory accounts and tax filing leading the financial operations of the entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and US GAAP requirements. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while identifying financial and business trends. Collaborate with the Regional EMEA finance & business team to provide insights into local financial performance. Monitor updates to US GAAP standards and assess their implications for the Italian subsidiaries. Liaise with local authorities, statutory boards, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements. Maintain proactive communication with statutory auditors and the "Organismo di Vigilanza" to support audit and governance activities. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other internal controls rules. Lead annual budget planning and monthly forecasting cycles collaborating with teams across the region and in HQ. Provide variance analysis processes to the Italian site local Management to facilitate decision making process. Actively participate in Site Leadership team and drive continuous improvement initiatives as needed. What You Will Bring to Cabot Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable). Fluency in Italian and English is essential for effective communication with global stakeholders and the headquarters; Spanish would be a plus. At least 5 years of experience in finance management, preferably within multinational companies. Strong expertise in US GAAP standards, including reporting requirements for subsidiaries. Knowledge of local Italian accounting regulations, tax laws, and governance structures. Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with statutory auditors, the "Organismo di Vigilanza," and local authorities. Proficiency with ERP systems and financial tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with global teams and local stakeholders. Analytical mindset with the ability to manage complex financial operations across entities. Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
