Job Purpose
Implement, promote and encourage, for the competence area/line, a continuous improvement environment in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness in terms of production performance, Quality, Safety and Environment/Energy, involving all the functions related to the production processes and stimulating the engagement of line personnel.
Key Accountabilities
1. Efficiency and Continuous Improvement: As change agent, intercept opportunities for improvement, by the analysis of reporting systems and evidence from the field also reported by the functions involved, activating and managing specific team in order to define improvement solutions. Based on the projects in progress, provide input to the planner and shift leaders (line stops, production of particular items, combinations of specific items/products, tests, etc.) for special requests related to the production planning. For the competence line/area, take part to the definition of budget concerning Capex, KPIs, Quality, Safety and Environment, highlighting any need and/or areas of saving in order to ensure proper economic coverage for the following year. Analyze results concerning her/his competence area/line and intercept and ensure management of recurring issues regarding efficiency, quality and safety, coordinating the technical area for a long-term resolution and, if necessary, by defining/revising specific procedures and verifying their effectiveness. Collaborate with Technical Area, Safety and Quality to define new layouts/installations of new machines and tools, involving shift leaders and line operators in order to carry out a more complete and shared assessment. Process and share specific reports with the functions involved (eg test reports and start-ups, project status, meeting/flash meeting minutes). Suggest benchmarking activities related to specific projects and processes involving other Barilla sites and other companies in order to get alternative inputs for improvement.
2. Compliance to Quality and Safety Standards: In collaboration with shift leaders ensure compliance of Quality, Safety and Environmental standards implementing all the related procedures for his/her specific area/line and support the preparation of external audits. For his/her specific area/line, perform, with Quality, HSEE and shift leaders root cause analysis related to complaints/ non-complaints, accidents/non-accidents through analysis of the dynamics occurred, interviews with the personnel involved, defining preventive and/or corrective actions in order to prevent similar events. Report to the specific person in case of an emergency.
3. Technology: In collaboration with the plant Technologist intercept any structural issue related to the process standards by monitoring kpis (recipe, cooking diagrams, etc.) and specific tools installed on the lines, and define appropriate adjustments and/or changes in order to ensure compliance with the product standard. In collaboration with shift leaders and relevant functions, ensure resources needed during the technological tests (people/tools/ equipment) in order to support the technologists in carrying out pilot phases.
4. Operating Environment: Local scope (Plant). Exposed to different kind of relationships: from blue collar daily interactions to plant leadership team and headquarter functions. Need to synchronize and develop non hierarchical bonds with multiple stakeholders in the plant.
Requirements
1. Degree in Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering
2. Previous experience of 1-2 years in industrial environments with focus on quality, safety, production, lean, or Six Sigma
3. Knowledge of basic Lean techniques (SMED - 5S - VSM ecc.)
4. Understanding the management logic of an industrial warehouse
