Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior Structural Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia - IT .

Accountabilities:
1. Definition of in-line test specifications, fatigue test specifications, data analysis and data collection for next generation projects.
2. Studies of repair solutions for problems emerged on vehicles in service.
3. Collaborate with project groups (internal and external) and ensure the development of the assigned activity part.
4. Be the design referent for the internal and/or external resources involved in the team that addresses the problems of vehicles in operation.
5. Independent verifier for new car and bogie projects.
6. Concurrent engineering with the production and service department.
7. Follow production in the prototyping phases and validation tests of the car register and bogies.
8. Support the operative checks and/or repairs of the body and bogies of vehicles in service.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
1. Experience to perform the aforementioned tasks as described in section above.
2. Master of Science or technical degree required preferably in Mechanical or Aeronautical.
3. Minimum 2 years working railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as mechanical engineer, preferably structural fatigue and experimental data analysis.
4. Availability for short domestic and overseas trips.
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
1. Basic knowledge of 3D modeling (in CREO), 2D drawing (CREO and Autocad) and FEA software, HBK Ncode, or similar software.
2. Basic knowledge of welding processes using in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloy structures.
3. Basic knowledge of structural fatigue.
4. Analytic approach.
5. Team-working attitude.
6. Flexibility.
7. Result orientation.
Education / Qualifications:
Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical is a preferential title).
Languages:
Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level.
