The Environmental and Compliance Program Owner reports to the Stewardship (EHS) Site Leader and focuses on site compliance efforts with respect to Environmental Management systems. Main activities are:
* Management of waste streams (both outbound and inbound), air emissions, water discharge, utilities and raw materials consumptions
* Assessment of the environmental impacts of the site
* Monitor applicable regulations, code, practices and evaluate their impacts on Celanese’s management system
* coordinate external contractors involved in the activities above (e.g. trainers, consultants, laboratory services, …)
* Evaluate possible impacts of internal and external changes (technological, organizational, product-related, etc) in the context of the organization
* Monitor the correct execution and application of the Environmental procedures and practices
* Own the Environmental Permitting process
* Act as a “trusted partner” for the organization, for everything related to Environment and Environmental Compliance
* Monitor and report Environmental and Sustainability Data and indexes
* Be and internal auditor for the EHS management system
* Be the OCS (Operation Clean Sweep ®) Champion for the site
YOU will be involved in the following tasks:
* Ownership of Environmental policies and procedures for the site
* Ensure that local policies and procedures follow regulatory and corporate requirements
* Work with Function Leader to ensure that environmental practices are successfully implemented and employees are adequately proficient on environmental topics and related management procedures
* Ownership of environmental risk assessment, environmental compliance programs, environmental monitoring program and environmental improvement plan
* Review of site Management of Change requests and Capital Project Scopes to evaluate potential environmental impacts and ensure risks are mitigated before change is approved for start-up
* Serves as an auditor in Self-Assessment program for Safety, Health, and Environmental programs
* Investigate and follow up on Environmental incidents
What YOU will bring to the team:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working on Environmental topics; experience in chemical manufacturing is considered as a plus
* Strong knowledge of Environmental practices and policies
* Strong knowledge of Environmental regulations applicable to Italy and EU
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 Certification Scheme (knowledge of the OCS program is considered a plus)
* Languages: Italian (fluent), English (good)
* IT proficiencies: MS Office (good), basic CAD proficiency is considered a plus
* Able to work with and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
* RSPP A and B qualifications (Safety Manager qualifications according to Italian Decree 81/08) are considered a plus
