Position: CERTIFICATION & AUTHORIZATION ENGINEER The Certification Engineer collaborates with the C&A manager in the application of the C&A process to obtain the necessary certificates and authorizations for a Railways Vehicle, according to a defined C&A strategy. She/He is part of the C&V EDU (Engineering Design Unit) and operates in a Rolling Stock project frame, according to European Regulation (IV Railway Package), National Rules and laws and internal procedures. Functionally, she/he reports to the Project C&A Manager; hierarchically to the C&A Site Leader. Responsibilities: Carry out dedicated activities within the C&A processes in accordance with the project C&A management plan during all project phases; Support the C&A Manager in the identification and preparation of Certification and/or Authorisation requirements; Support the C&A Manager in the preparation of evidence documents plan (e.g. for TSIs or National Rules) with the project team; Collect and compile the C&A evidence documents to be submitted to independent assessors and/or the authorising entities; Organise periodic reviews of evidence documentation and assessment reports; Maintain the certification related data in the requirement management tools (e.g. Doors/Excel); Compile and keep track of C&A relevant reporting (e.g. KPI, Cost overview); Be a key partner of the project team for: Engineering, RAMS, Quality, Planning, Validation, Maintenance, Sourcing; Prepare the selection material and collaborate with independent assessors (e.g. NoBo, DeBo, AsBo) and authorising entities (e.g. ERA or NSA’s); Compile the Certification and Authorisation application file(s); Participate in the modifications follow-up of the certified/authorised vehicle configuration(s); Act on behalf of the C&A Manager upon requests for a specific scope of a project. Knowledge & Experience: Mastering of Certification process (at least 2 years in Railways or Automotive or Aerospace domain); Train system and subsystem knowledge (at least 2 years); Customer and external stakeholders Technical Management; Fluent in English. Behavioural Attitude: Good capability to establish external relationships with Authorities; Attitude to work in a dynamic context, in projects involving different sites; Good attitude to work in a team; Availability to move for short periods.
