Position Information Position Title: Forestry Assistant Department: Woodlands Position Number: 0000000 Hiring Range: $15/hr - $20/hr Location of Position: Second College Grant, Northern New Hampshire Position Purpose: Dartmouth College Woodlands is looking for a highly motivated individual with a forestry background to complete a Continuous Forest Inventory project at the Second College Grant in Northern New Hampshire. The Grant has a Continuous Forestry Inventory (CFI) program consisting of 150 permanent plots, which are measured periodically to help the Woodlands Office calculate growth and removals. This position is full-time (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday) from May through October 2025. Required Qualifications: Minimum one to two years in a forestry-related profession, or equivalent. Must hold a valid US or Canadian driver license and receive Dartmouth Driver Approval status. Must have a roadworthy, insured, and registered personal vehicle to perform duties of the position – work site is in a remote area. Must be willing to work independently in a remote location. Must be able to perform physically demanding field work and hike long distances over variable terrain, be comfortable navigating through the woods, and tolerate a range of weather and insect conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate degree in forestry preferred. Professional forestry skills preferred.
