The role focuses on optimizing processes to ensure cost-efficiency, sustainability, responsiveness and seamless coordination across the supply chain and delivering value to both the business and its customers.Key Responsibilities:Manage the local SOP process to ensure alignment between supply chain operations, sales forecasts, and production capacities. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between sales, production, finance, and supply chain teams to balance demand and supply effectively.Planning ForecastingEnsure accurate demand planning, supply forecasting, and production scheduling, considering seasonal cycles, crop protection product demand, and regulatory requirements. Adjust plans based on evolving market conditions and customer needs.Coordinate/contribute in the development and continuous update of sales rolling forecasts to anticipate market demand fluctuations in the crop protection sector. Use these forecasts to guide production planning, inventory management, and procurement strategies.Oversee order procurement to match the rolling forecast for supply.Logistics Distribution ManagementEnsure the timely, cost-effective distribution of crop protection products, optimizing transportation routes and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers to deliver seamless transportation and distribution services.Oversee 3PL contractors for transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Evaluate and monitor the 3PL contractors' performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with agreed service levels, safety and quality standards, and regulatory requirements for handling crop protection chemicals.Warehousing Inventory ControlOversee warehousing operations, ensuring proper storage, handling, and tracking of crop protection products in line with safety and environmental regulations.Maintain optimal stock levels, minimize obsolescence, and ensure compliance with hazardous material handling standards.Budget cost management across the board.Collaborate closely with commercial teams to ensure that the supply chain delivers high service levels, responding quickly to customer needs and market demands. Ensure product availability, timely and accurate delivery to support customer satisfaction in the agricultural sector.KPI Monitoring ReportingTrack and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, cost per unit, inventory turnover, lead times, customer satisfaction and product quality. Use these insights to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.Operational Expenditure (OPEX) OptimizationControl and optimize OPEX, identifying opportunities for cost savings across transportation, warehousing, and tolling operations, while maintaining or improving service quality and regulatory compliance.Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team to foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration. Ensure continuous professional development by providing training opportunities, clear performance goals, and regular feedback to team members, promoting both individual growth and team success.Quality Assurance ComplianceEnsure adherence to product quality standards and regulatory compliance in all supply chain functions. Implement processes to mitigate risks related to hazardous materials, ensuring safe handling and storage of crop protection chemicals.Process Improvement SustainabilityDrive continuous improvement initiatives, based on regional and global guidelines and identified local opportunities, focusing on process optimization, waste reduction, and sustainability in supply chain operations. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency while reducing the environmental impact of logistics and warehousing.Key Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Italian and English language is a must.At least 7 years experience in a similar position.Experience in the Agro Chemicals or Chemicals sector is a must.Technical Skills:Proficiency in demand planning and SOP software (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, JDA, Anaplan).Strong data analysis skills, with expertise in tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and their integration with supply chain operations.Soft Skills:Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographies.Strong decision-making abilities and a problem-solving mindset to balance competing priorities and drive continuous improvement.Proactive relationship-building with both regional teams and global stakeholders.A passion for driving change making a difference in a lean organisation.
