Job Description:
Qascom is looking for a Security System Engineer to join the Security team at the European Space Agency relocated in Rome (ESRIN) or in Netherlands (ESTEC). The job involves defining security guidelines for all agency programmes, including the development of satellites and constellations for Earth observation, telecommunications, quantum technology and navigation. We are looking for highly motivated individuals eager to grow and bring new know-how. You will contribute to the European security framework & risk assessment, from system security design to the current space missions.
Requirements:
* Master’s or PhD degree in one of the following fields: Software Engineering, Telecommunication, Security or Cybersecurity, Mathematics or Computer Science/Information Technology, or Aerospace.
* Advanced proficiency in English.
* Eligibility for National Security Clearance.
* One of the following experiences:
o At least 1 year of experience in a high-tech company, or a PhD.
o Activities in the domain of space engineering.
o Activities in the domain of cybersecurity, quantum communication, or cryptography.
o PhD in a technical field is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in cybersecurity or security assurance engineering.
* Ability to identify and analyze security risks using advanced methodologies.
* Familiarity with the Space Agency programs.
* Knowledge in handling classified information up to ESA/EU Secret level.
* In-depth knowledge of security certification and accreditation processes.
Responsibilities:
As part of an Engineering team working for the ESA Security Office, you will:
* Support the system security requirements and design of ESA space missions.
* Assist in security risk assessment.
* Contribute to the definition of Cybersecurity policies for the European Space Agency.
* Conduct end-to-end security assurance risk analysis and verification assessments.
* Perform Security Risk Analysis, Certification and Accreditation Process.
