Job Title: POWER ELECTRONIC ENGINEER
For our important client leader in the railway sector, we are looking for a:
Accountabilities
1. Design of Traction and Auxiliary Power Converters for Railway Applications
2. Input Requirements Analysis to define detailed requirements for the design of Traction and Auxiliary Power Converters
3. Propulsion/Auxiliary systems and Power Converters modelling and simulation to define power components sizing and topology choice
4. Electric and Thermal analysis and calculations of power converters
5. Drafting and issue of:
1. Detailed electric schematics
2. Technical specifications for component and system
3. Testing specifications
4. Bill of Material
6. Power Converters/components experimentation
7. Power Converters/components validation in routine, type and combined tests
8. System integration test and validation on board
9. Commissioning and service support
Required Skills/Knowledge
1. Excellent knowledge of:
1. Power Electronic circuit and Power Converters topology
2. Power semiconductor devices and technology (IGBT, Diode, Gate units, switching modulation technique, Si-SiC technology, etc.)
3. Power Electronics passive component and technology (Capacitors, Inductors, transformers, Contactors, bus bar and power cabling, etc.)
4. Power Electronics cooling system (Natural air, forced air, liquid, blower and pump characteristics, etc.)
5. Electronic circuit simulation (PSpice, Matlab, Simulink, etc.)
6. Power Electronics test circuit, measurement and experimentation
2. Good knowledge of reference standards for Power Electronics on railway applications.
3. Excellent capability to manage projects from the requirements definition phase to the final validation and analysis of feedback from the field.
4. Good knowledge of requirements management and dedicated tools (IBM Rational DOORS)
5. Good knowledge and use of electrical CAD tools for development of schematics and wiring diagrams (Autocad, etc.)
6. Good knowledge of GPLM management process.
7. Team working and problem solving capability.
8. External resource/supplier management capability.
9. Excellent knowledge and use of the main office automation software/tools.

Education / Qualifications
