ENVISION YOUR FUTURE JOB
We are looking for a motivated, curious and enterprising candidate to join us at our Operations HQ in Agordo (BL, Italy).
As Junior Data Scientist, you will support our manufacturing operations with insights gained from analysing shop floor data and that will be part of a data science team on development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets.
The candidate will perform all activities associated with the design, prototype, and development of learning models and act as a facilitator between the technical and the shopfloor team, collecting information and supporting the implementation and maintenance of data science solutions. He/She will join the Business Process Innovation team whose purpose is to guide the innovation inside EssilorLuxottica manufacturing all over the world.
Here some responsibilities you will have:
1. Support the Data Science team to identify new opportunities to drive business solutions forward.
2. Explore, mine and analyse data from company and internal databases.
3. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
4. Co-develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
5. Use predictive modelling to increase process quality.
6. Support the shopfloor team on current and future AI solutions.

You know you are a good fit with the role if:
7. You have Knowledge of Computer Vision techniques (image processing) and main algorithms (Convolutional Neural Networks, Autoencoders, …)
8. You have Strong knowledge of statistical computer languages (Python, SQL). Experience with PyTorch is a plus..
9. Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
10. Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
11. You have good communication skills, presenting results in a clear manner and proposing solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges and influence the stakeholders.
12. You have critical thinking and problem-solving skills, continuously looking forward to solve complex business problems..
13. Excellent knowledge of Italian and English.
14. STEM bachelor’s or master’s degree.
