Responsibilities:
* The Operations Manager Technical Onboarding is responsible for the daily functions and ensuring that AfrexInsure’s back office runs efficiently.
* This position involves managing various operational processes including renewals, risk management, claims processing, credit control, reporting, and customer service.
* Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that enhance productivity while maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
* Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, streamline workflows, and optimize resource allocation.
* Collaborate with other departments such as IT, finance, compliance, and marketing to align operational strategies with overall business goals.
* Contribute to building the AfrexInsure franchise through quality and efficient delivery to customers and working with key stakeholders.
* Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, optimizing processes for efficiency, and coordinating between departments to enhance service delivery.
* Implement strategic initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
* Analyze operational data to inform decision-making and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Tasks:
* Work with Business Development Managers to identify renewal business opportunities and renew policies.
* Contact existing clients to increase the scope of covers they have in place.
* Responsible for client needs and seeking continuous feedback.
* Documentation support for the business development team.
* Monitor the placing of reinsurance risks.
* Manage all technical underwriting processes.
* Investigate and resolve underwriting complaints and queries.
* Conduct risk-based assessments and define underwriting guidelines.
* Ensure formalization of the policy issuance process.
* Conduct risk surveys and assessments for clients and complex projects.
* Manage policy administration tasks.
* Design and oversee the claims management process.
* Analyze current operational processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Streamline workflows to improve efficiency in processing (re)insurance contracts.
* Develop methodology to manage complex tasks effectively and timely.
* Grow and maintain relationships with customers, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, and key market stakeholders.
* Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and internal processes.
* Monitor risk management processes to mitigate potential operational risks.
* Conduct regular reviews of back-office operations.
* Assist in developing the operations budget.
* Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals.
* Responsible for authoring all relevant reports related to the business functions.
* Conduct research and data analytics to support business development and operations.
* Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence.
* Manage credit control activities.
* Oversee general corporate administrative functions.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
* Master’s degree in finance, economics, risk management, management, or related field from a reputable university.
* At least 8 years of experience in the insurance operations field with familiarity in major products of Afreximbank.
* Good understanding of the African insurance market with proven background in insurance operations management.
* Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change-oriented setting.
* Experience in handling customer or stakeholder queries.
* Ability to deliver high-quality service and achieve set targets.
* Establish and manage relationships with underwriters and reinsurance markets.
* A willingness to travel extensively and work long hours when required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French, Arabic, and Portuguese is an advantage.
* Sound knowledge of the rules and regulations governing insurance internationally.
* Proficient in project management methodologies and technology.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
