Job Description:
Coordinates the team leaders (and therefore their teams) operating within his/her department, with a view to ensuring the completion of the work orders within the times and in accordance with the cost levels, specifications and quality standards laid down in the production plan, by means of the correct use of the human resources, plant and IT systems allocated to the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operational Management
* Coordination of activity scheduling, cost control and allocation of resources to the various teams operating in the department.
* Assurance of the correct supply of materials to the department, through contacts with the Materials Management unit.
* Supervision and control of logistics.
* Use of the SAP functions relating to production.
* Assurance of the correct organisation of the work of the department, with suggestions for any changes to ensure the achievement of objectives (shifts, distribution of tasks, etc).
* Reporting the need for departmental tools and equipment and their maintenance, and checks to ensure their correct use.
* Analysis of critical factors and identification of possible solutions, on a continuous improvement basis.
* Supervision of the progress of production in the department, assisted by the team leaders.
1. Personal Management
* Handling of contractual and legal matters on the working hours of the personnel allocated to the department (holiday entitlement, PAR, leave, overtime working, etc).
* Contribution to the training of personnel allocated to the department.
* Involvement of personnel, supply of information and handling of feedback.
* Management of the ‘OPERA’ Plan: allocation of objectives, monitoring, assessment of results and initiatives system.
* Contribution to the observance of the company regulations and disciplinary system and handling of internal conflicts.
* Assessment and management of goods-in and goods-out anomalies.
* Control of the use of tools, equipment and documents in the workshop.
2. Technical Matters
* Clear, documented communication on the main technical problems to the relevant departments (Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, etc), including:
o Incomplete or unclear documentation.
o Errors in the determination of requirements.
o Missing or inadequate tools and equipment.
3. Processing Quality
* Deals with FOD problems (where necessary), and brings these to the attention of the team leaders when the circumstances so require.
* Supports the team leaders in the supervision of the correct use and drafting of the working documents (assembly and control report, assembly and control schedules, faults list).
* Knowledge of the main quality documents (MDR, etc).
* Analyses the departmental quality indicators and the reasoning behind them and suggests actions for improvement.
4. Safety and Accident Prevention in the Workplace
* Supervises the application of the accident prevention regulations.
* Ensures observance of the fire prevention regulations in the plant.
* Monitors any risks created by chemical materials.
* Accident prevention and reduction.
* Training and updating of collaborators on the safety regulations.
