Field Service Engineer
Tasks
- Provide on-site support for the product range, including, but not limited to calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of materials testing systems in Italy.
- Proactively look for leads for new tools/machines, accessories and other services.
- Be familiar with the company’s product life cycle in order to be able to advise customers regarding obsolescence.
- Report on competitive equipment and activities at customer sites.
- Ensure that adequate preparation and planning is made before each visit so that the job is completed correctly without the need for further follow up visits.
- Ensure that planning for visits including travel is carried out in the most cost-efficient way.
- Deliver basic software training to customers, when required.
- Reponsible for quality of own work and ensure all administration is accurate and up to date, to the latest company requirements using the tools provided.
- To submit expenses and other paperwork within the required timeframe.
- Contribute to the company's efforts to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve quality and other process’s as required.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as may from time to time be requested.
Skills
- High school diploma relevant technical discipline: mechatronics, mechanics, electrical, electronic engineering or equivalent
- Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical/electronic systems.
- Solid experience in the same role
- Basic awareness of costs and own impact on margin
- Well organized with good time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible, resilient, open minded
- Team player and strong Customer oriented
- Good English both oral and written
- Willingness to travel frequently
