At our offices in Caserta area (Italy) we are currently seeking for a dynamic and talented Financial Controller Italy.
Main objective
The role is responsible for day-to-day cost controlling operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting. They support forecasting, budgeting activities, and perform ad-hoc analysis as required.
Key responsibilities
1. To collaborate with the CEO Italy to establish budgets and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial targets.
2. Financial controlling responsibility regarding transport and logistics costs: to monitor expenditures and variances against budgeted costs on a weekly basis, identifying areas of concern and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
3. To prepare dashboards regarding identified indicators, such as the amount of shipments per customer, volumes, profitability etc. on a daily basis.
4. Detailed margin analysis, by client and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
5. Support continuous process improvement in reducing the month-end reporting window by stream-lining processes and re-organising activities.
6. To develop and maintain comprehensive costing methodologies to accurately capture expenses, including direct and indirect costs, labor costs, materials, and overhead expenses.
7. To conduct regular reviews and audits of costing processes and controls to maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
8. Responsible for ad-hoc analysis or investigative work where necessary/required.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
* Experience of working with Accounting / Financial Systems.
* A previous controlling experience in groupage or express transport sector: knowledge of the cost chain (fixed and variable), vehicle and route optimisation practices.
Skills & Competencies
* Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis techniques.
* Strong MS Excel skills.
* The ability to perform weekly controlling activities on transport cost trends, to optimise on vehicles and proactively make the necessary corrections.
* Must have a flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactive approach to problem solving with ability to propose solutions and process improvements.
* Ability to perform effectively to reporting deadlines under own initiative.
* Ability to work overtime as needed to meet reporting deadlines.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
* Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and excellent organisational skills.
* Solid interpersonal communication and intercultural skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and to work with and empathise with colleagues and customers from varied backgrounds and cultures.
* Business standard English, spoken and written; Italian native or bilingual.
* Pharma / Logistics and Transport experience, a plus.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field;
* Qualified Accountant with post qualified experience gained within a Corporate environment.
