Job Description The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels. This involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, forecasting demand, managing supplier relationships, and utilizing planning systems to optimize the flow of materials. Activities may include, but are not limited to: Develop accurate forecasts based on production schedules and historical data. Analyze and adjust planning assumptions based on market trends and changes. Monitor inventory levels against target thresholds, minimizing excess stock and obsolescence. Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy. Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or similar systems to optimize inventory levels. Monitor the Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and maintain data integrity in planning systems. Address and resolve material shortages promptly to avoid production disruptions. Proactively identify and mitigate risks to the supply chain. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Participate in cross-functional initiatives to optimize the supply chain. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in economy, engineering (optional requirement) or a related field. Proficient in English (mandatory). 2 years of experience in materials planning or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and forecasting techniques. Proficiency in MRP or other planning systems, as well as advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with lean manufacturing principles. Project management experience. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. Results-oriented and proactive.
