Insulation Lines Engineer
We are looking for a Mechanical Investment Engineer with a deep understanding of extrusion processes to join our team.
Reporting to the CAPEX Manager of the Business Unit Transmission, the successful candidate will be based at our headquarters in Milan and will frequently travel to our production plants.
The Mechanical Investment Engineer will play a key role in supporting investment projects that enhance the manufacturing capacity and capabilities of Prysmian plants.
This includes defining technical specifications for investment machinery and equipment, working closely with suppliers and overseeing asset installation from design to handover to the plant.
Who Are We Looking For?
As a Mechanical Investment Engineer, your primary focus will be on the technical aspects of manufacturing investments, with a special emphasis on extrusion lines.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless addition and upgrade of machinery into both new and existing production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design, optimization, and installation of new lines as part of investment projects.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and production lines into the existing plant infrastructure.
* Provide technical guidance on the selection and setup of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machinery equipment during installation and operation.
* Ensure all new systems and processes adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
* 2-4 years of experience in machinery design, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
* Proficiency in CAD and design software; experience with simulation software (FEM) is a plus
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems and equipment
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Team player mentality
* Willingness to travel (approximately 70% of the time)
* Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Skills:
* Passion for industrial environments
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery
* Knowledge of additional languages (French, German, Finnish) is a plus
