IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for an experienced Research Technician to join a newly established research line under the supervision of Michela Milani, Project Leader in the lab led by Alessio (https://tinyurl.com/muj89n8d) at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget).
The ambitious goal of the project is to develop a new generation of lentiviral vectors for in vivo re-targetable engineering. To this aim, we combine in vitro and in vivo work, thorough advanced genetic engineering tools. The proposed projects build on our recent discovery of a window of opportunity to target hematopoietic stem cells in vivo early post birth by lentiviral vector systemic administration. We aim now at developing new tools for in vivo engineering and test them in different disease models.
Main responsibilities:
mouse work (mice handling, in vivo treatments, organs isolation and analysis)
production of recombinant lentiviral vectors
cell culture (cell lines, primary cells)
molecular biology, biochemistry (PCR, cloning, ELISA, western blots)
flow cytometry
training of new lab members
The candidate we are looking for has the following skills:
Biomedical degree (Bachelor or Master) with previous lab experience
mouse experience
cell culture and molecular biology experience
previous experience in flow cytometry is considered a plus
high accuracy, reliability, precision
high motivation to work in an international environment
excellent organizational skills
friendly, collaborative, pro-active mindset
good oral and written English skills
