We are currently searching for a Senior Analyst – Customs & Trade Compliance based in Rome to provide advanced support to Regional Trade and Customs operations.
What you will be doing
* Coordinate and monitor import/export compliance with International Trade, Customs and Government Agency Laws & Regulations for Baxter entities in EMEA.
* Help develop, implement, and support Baxter’s Trade and Customs strategy and systems.
* Support the interpretation and application of regulations and raise contacts for irregularities in trade and customs matters.
* Identify and implement duty reduction opportunities and general process improvements, working to develop, audit, and support international trade programs.
* Implement internal processes to collect proofs of origin, ensure compliance with non-preferential rules and report origin determination regularly.
* Drive standardization of import/export processes and internal control procedures, including drafting local SOP/procedures for trade compliance & customs activities.
* Work closely with local operations (Logistics, Planning & Manufacturing) to seamlessly integrate Global Trade activities into overall operations.
* Keep close collaboration with the Trade Compliance Team to ensure flawless execution.
What you will bring
* Working knowledge of Import/Export laws and regulations, Customs formalities, FDA/MOH requirements, and global application.
* Solid understanding of Country-of-origin determination and Harmonize System (commodity codes) determination.
* Ability to perform gap analysis, identify gaps/issues related to non-compliance, formulate corrective action plans, present findings to management and operations, and implement agreed upon actions.
* Experience working within a regulated and fast-paced environment, ideally in an international organization.
* Proficiency in English essential and fluency in German desirable.
* Capability to prioritize and handle own workload and report in a structured manner.
* Initiative, good communication skills, strong work ethics, and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE).
