For Solenis, a leading global specialty chemical supplier, we are currently seeking a Corporate EHS Regional Specialist.
Location: home based - central Italy (Rome area)
The Role:
• Provide EHS support for commercial employees and plants in assigned countries (if applicable).
• Lead the implementation of Corporate EHS Objectives & Targets.
• Drive the implementation of Corporate EHS programs and monitor their effectiveness.
• Monitor EHS regulation-related activities.
• Develop, organize, and conduct trainings, offering coaching to commercial employees.
• Coordinate safety activities for the commercial team, such as customer site safety inspections and risk assessments, sales training days, Job Safety Analysis, and Job Safety Observations.
• Lead incident/accident reporting and investigations.
Experience and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or related technical fields.
• EHS Certifications as per country requirements.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience in an industrial environment (experience in the chemical industry and/or manufacturing background is advantageous).
• Proficient in written and spoken English; proficiency in other European languages is beneficial.
• Thorough knowledge of regional EHS regulations relevant to the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical and product regulations, enforcement, and industry practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
• Familiarity with safety programs including chemical management, JSA, Behavior Safety, Fall Protection, Hot Work, Confined Space, Line Breaking, Lockout Tag-out, Defensive Driving, and Ergonomics.
• Willingness to travel up to 30-50% of working time, primarily within assigned countries.
• Deep understanding of Industrial Hygiene is advantageous.
• Self-starter with the ability to think and act independently and make sound recommendations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all team members.
• Ability to interface with external contacts in different countries/cultures.
• Proven ability to multitask.
• Capability to train others on basic systems and processes.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of Industrial Water Treatment and the Pulp and Paper industry is advantageous.
