SPEA S.p.A., a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of testing systems for semiconductors and electronic boards, is looking for an Electronic Designer.
The candidate will be placed on a professional growth path in which he/she will have the opportunity to gain increasing skills in the design of microprocessor electronic boards, measurement electronic boards, and analog and digital signal generation.
Specifically, he/she will be responsible for the following activities:
* Attend Kick Off meetings with customers and job references to gather information needed to develop designs.
* Support engineers in designing electronic devices.
* Independently design electronic devices derived from electronic boards already built.
* Create, through the use of CAD software (Mentor, Cadence, Matlab), electronic technical drawings.
* Program in HDL for AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Lattice FPGA families.
* Implement the power part of the board using the best simulators.
* Conduct alternative component scouting activities to supplement technical needs when necessary.
* Participate in all phases of Debug, Calibration, and Characterization up to the finished product to be installed in the world's best test systems in the microchip market.
System Engineer
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design of machinery for the testing of electronic devices with a multidisciplinary approach to the main machine components whether electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, or software, working in synergy with the entire design team. The system designer's main task will be to ensure that all components of the machine (electronic, mechanical, and software) are consistent with the delivery specifications. The System Engineer will interface with the Product Manager on all aspects of machine design.
The candidate will be placed within a group of system engineers coordinated by a System Engineer Team Leader to whom he/she will report for all organizational aspects of his/her work.
Activities include:
* Analysis of customer specifications together with the project team and product leader.
* Selection of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components.
* Budgetary evaluation of machine component costs.
* Collaboration with the mechanical team on the integration of various machine components.
* Collaboration with the software team to define software functionality.
* Control system sizing (Knowledge of MathCad and/or Simulink required).
* Electrical panel sizing and wiring.
* Electrical schematic design.
* Organization and creation of the bill of materials and control of related costs according to the budget.
* Drafting the technical file.
* Drafting requirements for technical operation and maintenance manuals.
* Definition of requirements for testing and diagnostics.
* Supervision during assembly and first product validation.
Requirements:
* Degree in mechatronic or electronic engineering.
* Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
* Basic skills in mechanics, pneumatics, and electromechanics.
* Knowledge of electronics, component and PCB design and sizing.
* Knowledge of motion control systems and their component elements (control, drivers, motors).
* Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink simulation systems.
* Knowledge of major electrical/electronic drafting packages (Eplan Suite, Orcad, Mentor).
* Knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D and 2D drawing.
* Any skills in computer vision and robotics appreciated.
* Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.
