North Point Defense (NPD) is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Researcher to join its team in Rome, NY.
This position will be responsible for researching methods focused on enabling ML technologies that provide real-world solutions. Collaborate with a diverse team of software developers, DSP engineers, FPGA engineers, and Subject Matter Experts. Research may result in publications in AI/ML conferences and journals.
Responsibilities:
1. Research methods to enable ML technologies.
2. Collaborate with a diverse team.
3. Contribute to publications in AI/ML conferences and journals.
Qualifications:
1. Strong experience and skill with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
2. Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
3. Familiarity with research topics including reinforcement learning, multimodal models, object detection, LLMs, and transformers.
4. Master's with 3+ years of experience or PhD in the field of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant technical field.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Current TS/SCI is a strong plus.
