Overview: Sales Engineer (EMEA) – Mainframe Systems You will help customers understand and use our mainframe solutions effectively. We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of z/OS, including hardware, startup, system configuration, and performance tuning. You will analyze system logs and SMF data to diagnose issues and optimize performance. You should have experience with SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and system commands. We work closely with clients to solve technical challenges and improve their systems. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
What you will do:
* Deliver customer presentations – 20%
* Be responsible for executing proofs-of-concepts – 20%
* Create and deliver product demonstrations – 30%
* Participate in product beta testing – 5%
* Provide customer feedback to product management – 5%
* Provide design feedback – 5%
* Collaborate and strategize with the sales team – 10%
* Collaborate with marketing to fine-tune and improve message – 5%
* Other duties may be assigned.
What we are looking for:
* BS in IT (Equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement)
* 3+ years’ experience as a Sales Engineer
* Deep knowledge of z/OS, including:
o Hardware components
o System startup
o Parm members
o System configuration
o Memory management
* Experience with:
o SMP/E
o JCL
o TSO/ISPF
o System commands
o System logs
o Analyses of system logs
o SMF data
o Analyses SMF on performance and tuning
o Splunk or ServiceNow or Elastic
* Travel is required: Yes – Approximately 5%
* Qualifications that would be a plus but not required.
