The opportunity exists for an experienced Business Development Manager to join AFRY’s Energy Division within the expanding Thermal and Renewable Energy team in ITALY, CIS and EMEA.
AFRY’s Thermal and Renewable Energy Team provide clients with help and support at all project stages, including technical and economic feasibility studies, technology assessments, technical due diligence reviews, Lenders’ Engineer services, front end engineering design (FEED) studies, owner’s engineer services, engineering-procurement-construction-management (EPCM) services, operation and maintenance support and optimisation and expert witness services.
As Business Development Manager you will play a key role in growing the Thermal and Renewable Energy business in ITALY, CIS and EMEA. You will also support business development activities across wider EMEA Region, working with colleagues in other AFRY offices (e.g. Finland, Switzerland, Italy, Dubai etc).
Qualifications
YOUR TASKS:
* Strengthening relationships with existing clients and forging new partnerships.
* Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Working knowledge of contracts, framework agreements and tendering qualification processes.
* Leading multiple tender processes, including bid scheduling, compliance, and document production.
* Liaise with key personnel to ensure timely delivery of information for internal and external deadlines.
* Participate in an environment of learning and improvement among bidding and business development colleagues.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor analysis, and client needs to drive strategic decision-making.
* Support the management of our client data using a Client Relationship Management system (Microsoft Dynamics).
YOUR PROFILE:
* Hold a degree in process, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering.
* Have experience in business development, particularly within engineering/consulting services.
* Have experience in working with Banks/Lenders and strong network for technical advisor services with Italian Banks and foreign stakeholders.
* Can demonstrate a strong track record of winning and managing profitable work.
* You are a good communicator and can reduce complex issues to understandable arguments and presentations for top management from different cultural backgrounds and employees. We pay utmost attention to structured and articulate writing and presentation skills; therefore, you are fluent orally and in writing business English and Italian.
* Are proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Are used to work under pressure, with tight deadlines, and have no objections to travel, as it forms an essential part of your duties.
ADDITIONAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* An established network and in-depth insight into the Italian energy market.
* Relevant experience of BD activities in CIS and EMEA region.
* A third language in addition to Italian and English (e.g. Spanish, French).
