About the Role
The Key Account Manager reports to the Managing Director Italy and takes charge of portfolio development of existing customers, business development to identify and secure new clients and scoring new business. Additionally, this role will act as a Sales Manager Europe, reporting to the Group CEO and managing the European sales team to meet the business targets.
* Develop and execute sales strategies, monitor KPI’s and ensure alignment with client goals.
* Client engagement: establish and maintain strategic alliances and build customer intimacy.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities.
* Sales leadership: provide sales leadership in the Europe Region, develop, guide and support the sales team, track and report key metrics.
* Analyze with the management the profitability status of the products and identify the best commercial strategy to expand the business (sales and margins) and develop sales quotas.
* Use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
* Identify and analyze customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
* Consult with potential customers to understand their needs; identify and suggest equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
* Work with purchasing and suppliers to develop new customer opportunities.
* Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
* Resolve customer complaints and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
* Be the main contact with customers for technical-commercial aspects.
* Define the commercial plan.
* Discuss new opportunities and exchange information about them.
* Search for new potential customers.
* Prepare economic offers, based on appropriate Engineering and Manufacturing assessments, and, with Management’s approval, present them to the customer.
* Receive the technical-commercial requirements relating to new projects or project modifications and communicate them within the organization.
* Prepare the issuing of internal orders for the start of new orders or new modifications.
* Support the various internal functions in the management of problems with commercial implications.
* Ensure compliance with the procedures in the area of his/her competence and propose, in the face of any new needs, changes to the existing procedures or the issuing of new procedures.
* Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and to achieve the company’s commercial objectives and propose improvement actions.
* Provide leadership to the sales team, motivate and encourage the sales team to ensure quotas are met.
* Coordinate the sales network/customer interface.
* Prepare sales budget, monitor and approve expenses.
* Review and analyze sales and operational records and reports.
Qualifications
* Technical background/Engineering Degree is evident to understand the Tier 2 process (must have qualification).
* International business experience.
* 15 years of commercial experience in the automotive industry with a deep understanding of the automotive supply chain, ideally tier-2 experience.
* Several years of management experience at management level, ideally in a matrix organization.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), Italian and German is helpful.
Required Skills
* Exceptional drive to meet and exceed sales targets through strategic prospecting and closing.
* Goal oriented, with strong organizational skills to manage a remote team efficiently.
